GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida, Rockstar’s version of Florida. It has six official regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
According to Rockstar’s Rob Nelson, the map is about twice the size of GTA V’s and three times Red Dead Redemption 2’s. No square-mile figure has been given. Sources: official site, TechSpot (Aug 27, 2026)

Vice City
Back for the first time since Vice City (2002) and Vice City Stories (2006). Rockstar calls it “the glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city.” Rob Nelson says Vice City alone is about twice the size of GTA V’s Los Santos.
Leonida Keys
Leonida’s tropical island chain. It’s the base of Brian Heder, an old-school drug smuggler who lets Jason live rent-free in exchange for help, according to the official site.
Grassrivers
Leonida’s Everglades. Rockstar’s description suggests the gators aren’t the deadliest predators out there; the armed locals are.
Port Gellhorn
A once-popular vacation spot, described by Rockstar with malt liquor, painkillers and truck-stop energy drinks.
Ambrosia
Called the “heart of Leonida” by Rockstar: factories, old-school values and a local biker gang.
Mount Kalaga
Mount Kalaga National Park, with prime hunting, fishing and off-road trails.

Weather, hurricanes and wildlife
In a cover story published September 29, 2026, Game Informer reported, with details from Rockstar, that Leonida will have:
- Tropical storms and seasonal hurricanes, plus dynamic clouds, localized storms, lasting puddles and rainbows.
- More than 170 animal species, including flamingos, manatees, pelicans, alligators, green iguanas, cane toads, feral cats and rhesus macaques, tracked as Rare, Discoverable or Legendary.
